The Screw-FIX Nose Cone - Ø 125 is a precision-engineered accessory designed to streamline the installation of MI-FLEX 316L and 904 flexible flue liners. This nose cone attaches securely to the leading end of the liner, enabling it to be smoothly pulled down an existing masonry chimney, minimising snagging and reducing installation time. This item is suitable for appliances operating up to 600°C (T600 designation) and can be used with wood (under 20% moisture), smokeless coal, gas, and oil.
It's a crucial component in fulfilling Building Regulations Document J, which mandates that flexible flue liners must be entirely enclosed within masonry chimneys. Note that draw cords are not supplied with the nose cone. Regular sweeping and maintenance are vital to ensure chimney efficiency and safety, and all servicing should be performed by a competent professional, preferably HETAS registered.
The chimney and appliance should be inspected and cleaned at least once annually, with a recommendation for biannual cleaning for solid fuel appliances to avoid any blockages or deposits.
