This gather hood is crafted to facilitate the transition from the fireplace opening to the flexible flue liner, enabling a larger flow area for gases to easily escape up through the chimney liner. Perfect for use with wood-burning appliances, smokeless coal, gas, and oil heating systems, it withstands high temperatures up to 600°C (T600 designation).
Key installation requirements include fitting within the masonry chimney to comply with Building Regulations Document J, making a secure gas-tight seal using fire cement or high-temperature sealant, and ensuring no flex is exposed at any time. Maintenance should be carried out by a competent person, and it is imperative to sweep chimneys serving solid fuel appliances at least twice a year.
